Job Overview
Sun Seeker Farm is seeking an experienced Seasonal Field Crew member to join our team for the 2026 growing season. This role requires prior experience on a commercial farm focused on production and is best suited for someone who is comfortable with hard, rewarding outdoor work, able to work in a variety of weather conditions, and meeting daily production goals. One year of flower farm experience is preferred; vegetable production experience is also acceptable.
This position works directly with our Farm Manager and supports our day-to-day operations which includes fulfilling orders with a focus on field work. New team members will have a short 4-week probationary period at the start to ensure a good fit for both the worker and the farm.
Schedule
This position runs from April 6–Oct 31, 2026. We work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the spring and the fall. In the Summer we work Mondays and Wednesdays with Friday as a flex date. We work approximately 6-7 hr days and start around 8–830am during cool months and 645-7am during the hottest times of the year. We will take one week off in July for summer break.
Responsibilities

Perform physically demanding field work including bed prep, planting, weeding, and general field work

Harvesting flowers and crops to meet daily production targets and orders

Assist Farm Manager with pest management, crop care, and seasonal field tasks

Follow protocols, tracking basic production data, and maintaining farm standards and best practices
Requirements

At least one full season of experience working on a commercial farm (flower or vegetable)

Physically able to perform heavy labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive bending, digging, and extended periods of standing or kneeling

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Able to work at a steady, efficient pace and meet productivity expectations

Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction while also working independently

Willing to learn and strictly follow farm systems, protocols, and quality standards

Must have reliable transportation

References from previous farm or agricultural employers strongly preferred

Part Time
Assistant Florist
Location: Sun Seeker Farm, South Toe area, Burnsville, NC
Pay: $18–$20/hour, Contractor, depending on experience
Job Overview
Sun Seeker Farm is looking for a motivated Assistant Florist to help with bouquet production for subscriptions, wholesale accounts, and farmers markets. This role is open to all, but candidates with at least six months of hands-on experience with flowers or a visual art/design background are strongly preferred.

Work focuses on following established bouquet recipes or executing the lead designer’s direction

Production work requires speed, consistency, and attention to detail to meet pricing and hourly goals.

Occasionally assist with wedding event arrangements. This is not a full-service event design role, the primary focus will be on our weekly bouquets orders.

New team members will have a 4-week probationary period with clear training, feedback, and expectations to ensure a good fit.
Schedule
The position is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays for 3–4 hours per day, with start times between 8–8:30, weather dependent (we work outside under shelter and orders need done before the heat of the day.)
The seasonal start date is April 13 with an initial commitment through end of June. The position has a strong possibility to extend through mid-October based on fit and farm needs, with a one-week summer break in July. Summer hours begin at 7-730am.
Responsibilities

Assemble wrapped bouquets for subscriptions, wholesale, and market sales following recipes and lead designer guidance

Grade stems and handle flowers gently to maintain freshness and quality

Follow post-harvest conditioning and pricing lists to meet cost targets

Meet per-hour production quotas efficiently without sacrificing attention to detail

Prepare DIY flower buckets for florists and weddings

Assist occasionally with simple event arrangements, such as vases or boutonnieres

Perform basic processing tasks: hydrating, cleaning, organizing stems, and keeping workspace clean

Comfortable appearing in occasional social media posts documenting activities on the farm
Ideal Candidate

Some prior experience with flowers (floral design, flower farms, shops, events, etc.) — 6+ months strongly preferred

Comfortable in a fast-paced, production-focused environment

Basic understanding of floral design: color, balance, line, shape, form, proportion, and use of focal/filler/line flowers and foliage

Good eye for color, proportion, and overall design

Able to stand for hours and perform repetitive hand work

Reliable, punctual, and able to follow recipes, systems, and direction

Open to feedback and willing to adjust work to meet farm standards

Reliable transportation
