Spring

The first flowers of the year are always our favorites. They include ranunculus, anemone, poppies, bupleurum, snapdragons, tulips, daffodils, larkspur, sweet peas, campanula, forget-me-nots, stock, bachelor’s buttons, dianthus, scabiosa, nigella, baptisia, foxglove, yarrow and peonies.

Summer

Summer brings some of our boldest and brightest blooms on the farm. Our favorites include dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, marigolds, rudbeckia, celosia, gomphrena, strawflower, phlox, veronica, and snapdragons—plus lots of sunflowers—which we absolutely adore and grow in many different varieties of!

Fall

As the leaves change, so do our fields—into a rich autumnal palette. Now is when dahlias and cosmos really start to shine. Other blooms include amaranth, sunflowers, strawflowers, ornamental grasses, marigolds, and chrysanthemums.

Last subscriptions going out for the year! They are definitely giving sweater weather and pumpkin spice vibes 🎃 A reminder we won’t be at market this weekend, but plan to return one or two more times mostly with dried bouquets and a limited selection of the last few fresh flowers we’ve got until frost.

My love of growing comes largely from the many years I spent involved in urban community gardening. Lately, I’ve been missing the camaraderie, shared knowledge, and friendships that came with it. As a mostly one-person operation, it can get lonely working solo all the time.

For our farm to grow and thrive, it depends on the shared labor, ideas, and support of our community. The knowledge and experience of others have already begun shaping our little farm.

For all these reasons and more, I’m incredibly grateful to those who’ve come out to help us all season including this fall as we get our new plot planted for overwintering Spring flowers (shown here–as well as our garden guard dog Essie who got into some burrs!)

Subscription bouquets getting ready to head out 😃Loving the hot biscuits brown amaranth to give a touch of fall. With the cooler temps even the strawflower are getting bundled up! These flowers are so interesting how they open and close in response to the sun and temps. They are the red ones with yellow centers that will open up when warmed.

Tomorrow will be our last market of the year with fresh cut flowers (miiiight do another with dried flowers only later in October). Wishing we had more to offer!! but our growing space is so limited currently which is why I’m so SO SO excited for next year! We will be more than doubling our growing space which means more than double the flowers 💐 we are spending the rest of the season doing fall plantings for spring. Thanks so much everyone for the support this year, can’t wait until 2025 it will be our biggest year going into our fourth growing season.

On farm pick up’s this week only! Here is a whimsical one we did for a senior portrait shoot this week—congrats to the young lady! Message us if you’re interested in any special orders.

This week only we are doing on farm pick ups (by appointment) and free deliveries 🚚 💐 on orders over $50 to anyone within a 30 minute drive of our farm. The market is closed this weekend (Aug.3rd) so we’ve got flowers to move! Message me if you’re interested.

My favorite cosmos lately have been these double click cranberry varieties. All the plump little buds will continue to open up in the vase. They add the best little touch of whimsy.
